A Purpose, a Rose and a Journey Within

Monte Rose is a dedicated recovery professional, local author, and passionate advocate for second chances in the Greater Houston area. After overcoming homelessness and addiction, Monte embraced his own recovery in 2011 and discovered a passion for helping others find freedom and hope. He went on to earn his Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor certification and has been serving as a counselor in the field since 2017.

Monte is the also the owner and director of Primary Purpose House, a sober living residence in Dickinson, Texas, where he provides structure, accountability, and community to individuals rebuilding their lives. He also works as a therapist at Houston based specialty hospital for complex pain and substance use disorders, where his approach combines evidence-based practices, universal core recovery principles, and compassionate guidance to meet each individual client where they are.

As an author, Monte has written The Journey Within: A Compassionate Approach to 12-Step Principles & Recovery, a workbook that blends spiritual insights, practical tools, and creative exercises to support all people in recovery – regardless of the recovery support organization they choose. He is also writing a memoir, Warm Blood and Cold Water, sharing his personal story of struggle, transformation, and spiritual awakening.

Monte’s mission is simple: to help people caught in the cycle of addiction find healing, rediscover purpose, and become the best version of themselves. His work is grounded in honesty, compassion, and an unshakable belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, connect, and thrive.
